We went to Fonterra’s AGM and Shareholders’ meetings in both New Plymouth and Auckland to call out their reliance on palm kernel. Palm kernel is an imported feed from Southeast Asia, used to feed dairy cows in the dry summer months. It’s a product of the palm industry, and linked to rainforest destruction and loss of rare wildlife. A high price for cheap cow food.
We’re calling on Fonterra to drop palm kernel from all of its farms across Aotearoa.
