Greenpeace Canada’s photo contest is a beloved annual tradition. Sent out to thousands of our supporters every year, this calendar is filled with photographs of our natural world, and the creatures with whom we share our planet. The calendar helps to remind us why the world needs Greenpeace: to help preserve the Earth and our environment.
We’d like to invite you to share your best calendar-worthy images with us. Our esteemed panel of Greenpeace photo judges will select the final 12 for the 2021 calendar.
Entry guidelines
This calendar goes out to thousands of Greenpeace supporters, so we’re looking for your best images that inspire wonder, awe and pride. This year the theme is, “Mother Nature and her Babies,” so we are looking for your best photos capturing the unique beauty of animal parents and their offspring. Please note we cannot accept photos of animals in zoos.
Work submitted must be original photography taken by the entrant. The entrant is the sole copyright holder. Images must not be significantly altered before submission (this includes editing in external images or adding stickers or text). Greenpeace may request a model release from the entrant if required. Greenpeace may crop or digitally process the images to fit the calendar.

Method of entry
Step 1: Contestants must submit a photo that is their own work. Entries must be submitted through the Greenpeace Canada Contest Page. Entries must meet the minimum photo requirements outlined below:
Minimum width > 2188 pixels and minimum height > 1438 pixels
(Resulting in a 250 dpi printed image at 100%)
Preferred width > 2626 pixels and preferred height > 1726 pixels
(Resulting in a 300 dpi printed image at 100%)
Step 2: Once your photo(s) are uploaded, fill out our form with your personal information and agree to our photo waiver. A maximum of 3 images can be submitted per person.
That’s it! Once your image(s) are approved, they will be added to our gallery and will be in the running to appear in our 2021 calendar. All pictures must be submitted by August 7, 2020. Our judges will select our winners by September 1, 2020.

Prizing
The chosen images will appear in the 2021 Greenpeace Canada desk calendar. The selected entrants will receive three (3) copies of the calendars for their personal use, a signed letter of recognition, and a copy of the highly-coveted Greenpeace Living Guide.
Thank you for your continued support of Greenpeace. We look forward to seeing your submissions!
Discussion
I tried to submit a photo but when i hit submit nothing happens. How can i know if it was sent correctly and that you have it
Hi Yvette, I can confirm that we did indeed receive your two submissions :) Thank you so much for entering in the contest, and best of luck with voting. Your photos are beautiful!
When does voting begin and where do we vote?
I posted the link on my FB PAGE and my friends are asking where my photos are that I submitted this afternoon! They are confused! Please tell me when the three pix will show up so I can repost the link. Thanks so much—this is exciting to see everyone’s submissions.
I submitted 3 photos for the Greenpeace Canada contest (mother and baby) three days ago, but I cannot see them in the gallery! Help! I need to get my friends and family to vote but if they are not visible, I cannot get votes. What do I have to do? Is there a reason why I cannot see my photos alongside other contestants? Please let me know if I am looking in the wrong place! Thanks so much...time is running out!
I don't our underwater photo of the mother and birth of her seal in Comox Harbour August 1. When do we know if you are going to post it?
I submitted 2 photos before I realized they did not have the proper file name protocol. Can I resubmit with the proper naming? Fortunately this error was corrected before the 3rd photo was submitted. Thank you.
Thank you for all the wonderful work Greenpeace does to make the planet a safer and more hospitable place for all life forms. (I think I have submitted one photo, though I don't see it yet on your site.)
