Amazing achievements you’ve made possible

We don’t just save the whales – we do a lot more! Your support has led to these massive victories recently:

In September 2025, a nitrate emergency was declared in Canterbury, as nitrate levels in rural drinking water worsens. It’s the first step for greater fresh water protections from dairy pollution.

In January 2026, the historic UN Ocean Treaty came into force, after almost 2 decades of negotiations. It’s an exciting pathway for ocean protection on a global level.

Trans-Tasman Resources has tried to mine the seabed in the South Taranaki Bight for over 12 years, but fierce opposition has stopped them at every turn – including their recently-rejected Fast-Track application.

Where your donations go

When you donate to Greenpeace Aotearoa, you’re helping to protect the environment, and create a sustainable future. Every dollar you give supports movements that tackle urgent environmental issues, and protect our natural world.

We’re committed to spending your donations wisely. We make sure your donations are creating maximum impact for nature where it is most needed, both in Aotearoa and around the world.

We couldn’t do our work without you, so we always treat you – and your donations – with respect and appreciation.

What you’ve achieved already

Greenpeace has been campaigning for the planet since 1971. Below are just a few historic projects that resulted in major wins for the planet.

You’re part of a global movement

Greenpeace is comprised of dozens of independent national or regional organisations in over 55 countries across Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe and the Pacific, as well as a co-ordinating body, Greenpeace International. And around the world, there are millions of supporters like you, who have a vision of a green and peaceful future.

This global presence means Greenpeace can work directly with communities on the frontlines as they protect the environments they call home, as well as coordinate globally on campaigns for the planet.

Thank you for all that you do 💚

Greenpeace is 100% independent. We rely on donations from people like you, people who care about protecting the planet.

It’s only because of your support that we can build a green and peaceful future. Thank you.
