It’s been quite a ride.
Together, we have put the climate emergency front and centre in this election campaign in a way that has never happened before. From the 150+ Green New Deal town halls in the Spring, to the massive student-led climate strikes, the relentless pressure on candidates at debates and on doorsteps, and even inspiring applications of art to politics, we have demanded that our next government treat the climate emergency like an actual emergency.
Now we need to seal the deal.
We need you to contact the Prime Minister NOW and tell him that you want him to work with other parties to implement a climate emergency response plan that acts at the speed and at a scale equal to the crisis. A plan that:
- Is aligned with the best available science, so will eliminate all carbon emissions before 2050 to avoid the worst effects of climate change.
- Has targets for 2025 and 2030 consistent with getting there, and independent reporting on whether we are on track.
- Ensures everyone in my community has a good job, because the big changes we need to make to solve the climate crisis can also address its twin scourge of growing inequality.
- Takes back the power and stop letting Big Oil companies influence government decisions. Your policies must be for the people, not the millionaires. This begins with an end to subsidies to fossil fuels and the expansion of fossil fuel infrastructure, including the cancellation of the Transmountain expansion pipeline.
- Stops putting extractive industries interests before Indigenous rights. He should implement free, prior and informed consent for all indigenous communities coast to coast to coast.
This is big. It won’t be easy. But more delay or half-measures will be much, much harder.

Dear Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Years ago I suggested to the Canadian Medical Association that we divest our Life savings from Fossil Fuel investments. They instituted a Fossil Fuel Free Investment Fund which we invest in. I remarked that Alberta could remain the powerhouse of Canada with wind farms harnessing chinooks, drilling for geothermal and solar in the rain-shadow of the Rocky Mountains. These are being resisted by Petroleum Resource Companies. We could as a country would continue with vibrant good jobs with these conversions. This should be strongly encouraged.
Let’s show some appreciation to our planet. Respect and love it Do right by it. Think about the most effective way to do it because we don’t have much time

First off, Justin, congratulations on your win, and I'm so glad you will need to form a coalition, as I voted for the Green party. I totally agree with what is been put forward by GDPR and trust that you will do all you can with regards to these issues. I also have a personal item to bring to your attention, and that is the second class health system we have– allow– for people with disabilities, and in particular in my case, wheelchair users. Anywhere where they don't have the equipment– ceiling lifts, slings and room enough to accommodate a wheelchair user, as well as having the equipment but not having it adjustable in ways needed for the disabled. I've been denied services for years because they didn't have lifts, slings or weigh scales to offer services they offer to everyone else as per our human rights laws. If I had to take every doctor, dentist or other medical professional to the human rights tribunal I wouldn't have very many doctors, dentists or other professionals to access. Case in point, my very own GP when I requested that I be weighed like all his other patients he got very belligerent, threatened me with withdrawal of service, which is in itself against the human rights laws, going on to say, and I quote, "if we did this, we would be the only ones in Canada to do so." That's the rub, no doctors in Canada have taken the necessary moves to not only protect their workers covered by the workers compensation act, but to cover themselves, employees and others against any possible liability should a patient be injured. I don't do manual transfers at home, so why would I allow it at my doctor's office even if they were able to transfer me. I even had one dentist ask two male patients to transfer me one time. I'm a tall guy and not easy to transfer because of my total deadweight, but I don't let my caregivers do this either due to the fact that I care for them not to mention Worker's Comp. act. When are you going to get the provinces coerced into being a little more proactive then human rights tribunals to make sure their disabled populations get the healthcare they deserve? You have leverage over them with regards to transfer payments, and I think transfer payments should in part be contingent on how active they are with regards to this issue. I would really like to know. Thank you so much for your time, and again, congratulations.
We need nature back or no future for our children! All business Has to recycle even a small plaza or a bank should have a recycling bin in from for their costumers. We need More education about the environment. And we could create jobs and make money of people who is countinously hurting the environment and every body on the planet. This people or businesses needs to be checked and make them pay for their actions. We could save the world and the government would make money .... need a special group who trained to give tickets for littering for not recycling.... also clean up hways waterways and the city .... nothing is impossible

The earths climate requires much attention and repair. We have the science so let’s use it to facilitate solutions immediately. I hoip in God.
I along with many other Canadians are concerned about the future of our planet. Over and over, we are being told and research shows that we must act fast to save what we have left and try to restore some of what we have lost. You don't need to read a book to learn about the effects of climate change and how everything and everyone is being impacted. You just need to look out your front door, extreme weather patterns, decline in bees and butterflies. and many other examples. We need to start appreciating and respecting the gifts Mother Earth has given us and stop destroying it.

Stop taking photos of yourself, stop pretending, step up become a world leader. The world needs Canada to takes its place fighting climate change. Dear Mr. Trudeau, I may live in Alberta, but I know an emergency when I see one. We are in a climate emergency. It is no longer possible to make the environment the enemy of the economy. In a climate crisis we cannot go on pandering to huge companies. Their money will mean nothing if there is no food or water. It is time to cut back carbon and create green jobs. We are running out of time. This is not a partisan issue. It is a crisis that must be addressed across party lines. Just do it.
I hope you read my last comment. It is so important to address climate change immediately. There will be nothing left for my grandchildren if you don't make changes using the best possible science. This must be done while respecting the rights of indigenous people, making hard targets and having progress monitored independently to be sure we are on track. Opportunities exist for endless new green jobs. Go after them. We can get through this together but only if we work together, stop making the support of multi-nationals& Big Oil a priority, stop making climate change a partisan issue. This is a crisis as serious as if the country were at war. Let's fight to save the world.

Who cares about the economy if we're not here? As much as I love protests, avoid the continuation of the climate change protest and save our economy by turning it to a green economy instead. This government, your government, is one of our last hopes for our home.
Dear Prime Minister: While I am glad any party other than the Conservatives have the majority of seats, you and your government have disappointed me on several issues this past 4 years. I am a strong proponent of your making climate change a number one priority but recognize the need for a transitional period. Your government has failed miserably in explaining this and laying out a clear, step by step plan that you plan to implement. Very few climate realists understand why we tax payers own a pipeline while at the same time your government says it is making climate change a priority. Not enough transitional actions or explanations have been made to realistically help people on both sides of the pipeline issue understand and have access to information and retraining for the new energy future our country requires. If you do not want to face another election in a few years, I strongly encourage you to work together with all seriously impacted provinces first to create plans that will move us forward to the necessary future with considerably reduced dependence on fossil fuels while ensuring retraining and income guarantee fir those suffering from these very dramatic and necessary changes. I wish you well but with a great sense of urgency. You could be the hope of the future if you work quickly and creatively now.
Mr. Prime Minister, Climate change; environmental degradation; endangered species; and, disregard of basic human rights must be and remain issues to address that exceed all else. These urgencies must be the cornerstones of any political platform seriously committed to effecting positive and profound change. That should be the legacy of a truly non-partisan government.
Dear Justin Trudeau , if you help us save the planet we will be one of the best countries in the world. besides that fact if we don't take action the world will die before the sun burns out. even if we start small and grow to bigger projects it will help the world out a lot, we don't want all our other generations to grow up and see what the world has become because we were just to lazy to deal with it. all the beautiful locations we go to for vacation we be gone in a small matter of years. many people are using all there time and to keep our earth clean but they cant do it without your help.
