Unit: Public Engagement/Program 
Location: Pune 
Reports to: Program Director 
Remuneration: 10,26,900/- per annum

Purpose of role 

Enrolling donors with high personal wealth are in alignment with organization value and beliefs. 

Main Duties 

Participate in all aspects of the donor cycle: 

● Initiate contacts with individuals 

● Develop appropriate cultivation strategies for them 

● Move potential donors in an appropriate and timely fashion toward solicitation and closure 

● Make solicitations when appropriate 

● Maintain contacts with donors; adhere to the highest ethical standards; demonstrate empathetic disposition, and perseverance; reflect optimistic and positive attitude, and convey sensitivity to needs of the donors 

For potential High network individuals in the database 

● Create a separate segment of such individuals from different cities
● Develop and propose strategies for solicitation of major gifts, including determining on-going relationships with prospect/donor; recommending specific purpose and level of gift; identifying those to be involved in cultivation and subsequent solicitation; assuring that solicitations are carried out 

Ensure all supporter information is correct and updated at regular intervals. Ensure all reports and publications are sent to the supporters on time. 

Supporters’ contribution to Greenpeace 

● Create a segmented pool of supporters that becomes a resource point which any unit in the organisation can reach out to. 

● Record relevant information about the supporter’s areas of interest, expertise and resources they can provide on the CRM 

● Ensure the segmentation is done in a manner that will help identify the supporter to be approached based on the nature of the request from different units and the level of risk involved for the Organisation  

● Share the information collected with all units

● Discuss requirements of different units 

Move potential donors in an appropriate and timely fashion toward solicitation and closure 

● Identify opportunities where supporter’s resources may be useful for other Units in the organisation 

Maintain excellent donor relations through personal contacts, phone calls, email and letter correspondence. 

Coordinate with the respective Unit Heads, wherever any support is required for the key donor program 

Coordinate with Campaigns/PSD/Creative Interventions unit to keep track of possible high value fundraising opportunities and for important updates to be sent to Donors/Prospects. 

Build and manage internal and external networks to assist in identification, cultivation and solicitation of high value donors and support. 

Decisions 

● Identify which campaign information should be shared with the supporters and in what format, for sensitive issues approval from line manager to be taken for sharing information which may not be in the public domain. 

● Which supporter to be approached to address needs/requests of other Units in the organisation. 

● The communication channel/process to be followed where key Donor Supporters are connected with other people in the organisation. 

● Publications and reports should be sent to supporters in consultation with the line manager. 

● Any further engagement with supporters can be undertaken in consultation with the line manager 

Knowledge & Experience 

● Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in Sales/Marketing/NGO Fundraising
● Computer literacy is essential (MS Office Knowledge) 
● Good written and verbal communication skills 

Organisation Skills 

Planning and organising: 

● Work with line manager to prepare the units income / expense plans ● Breaking down annual targets into monthly and weekly plans 

● Record and organize the information provided by Campaigners in a proper format

● Segmenting supporters. Preparing a meeting plan and organizing travel plans and finalizing meetings accordingly. 

● Plan and organize donor meetings for self and Manager/SMT during their city visits. 

● Work on preparing individual and strand reports which would provide detailed insight and intelligence on Key donor program, 

● Based on the journey of the donors and studying the internal campaigns and external scenarios, risks, and other factors, develop new and innovative ways to ensure Donor retention, upgrade, and scale in the donation. 

Analysis: 

● Analyse data on a regular basis to keep track of conversion percentages, increase in average donation values, contact percentage, etc. 

Innovation and initiative: 

● To explore different ways for gathering data through research 

● To think of creative means to make the campaign pitch stronger and effective
● Use appropriate venues or networking events to reach out to prospective donors 

Working with others: 

● The role requires dynamism and good communication skills. It would also require for considerable tact and diplomacy as it involves a large number of interpersonal interactions with people of varying personalities 

● It would also require developing of interpersonal interactions with people externally (External)
