Sunoco: tell Energy Transfer to stop silencing protest

Sunoco don't silence protest. Tell Energy Transfer to stop silencing protest

Racing can’t happen in silence, neither can justice. But F1 sponsor Sunoco’s parent company Energy Transfer (ET) is trying to silence protest and block free speech. With ET’s meritless SLAPP lawsuit against Greenpeace, they are threatening our existence in the US as well as peaceful protest and activism around the world.

Greenpeace entities in the US and Greenpeace International are being sued by Energy Transfer (ET) – a US-based fossil fuel company that is responsible for the Dakota Access Pipeline – related to the Indigenous-led 2016 protests at Standing Rock. Not only does this SLAPP attempt to rewrite the history of this movement led by the Standing Rock Sioux, but a loss at trial could prove destructive to Greenpeace in the US and have widespread impacts for the climate justice movement all around the world.
