Stop deep sea mining in its tracks.

Support a global moratorium now.

The deep sea is a treasure of biodiversity and home to untold wonders and possibilities. It is also one of our best allies against climate change. Right now, mining companies from around the world are trying to plunder these pristine ocean ecosystems, exploring the deep waters of the Pacific and developing technologies to exploit the seafloor.

But we can stop them before it’s too late. Pacific nations like Palau, Fiji, Samoa, Tuvalu, and Micronesia have all been outspoken on the risks of deep sea mining that could strongly impact Pacific lives and livelihoods. Electric automakers like BMW, Volvo, Volkswagen, Renault and Rivian have agreed not to use minerals mined from the seabed in their supply chains, particularly in EV batteries – and they publicly support a global moratorium on deep sea mining.

Now it’s your turn. By acting now, we can stop this potentially destructive industry before it starts, preserving the health of the ocean, the climate and people’s way of life.
