Greenpeace UK, Friends of the Earth and other organisations hold banners outside the Royal Courts of Justice to show their support for 16 Just Stop Oil activists who are appealing against their sentences which total 41 years in prison for peaceful protest. The outcome of this critical legal appeal could have far-reaching implications for the future of all peaceful protest in the UK, and not solely that related to climate and the environment.

Greenpeace activists have hidden three valuable works of art by Sami artist Britta Marakatt-Labba in forests on Ohredahke Sami community land to prevent valuable forest areas from being logged by SCA. After having had enough of the forest company's extensive logging on its reindeer grazing lands, and also discovering that SCA had logged thousands of hectares without consent for several years, Ohredahke Sami community has now withdrawn its consent for logging on its important reindeer grazing lands. One of the works of art is the original for this year's festival poster for Gothenburg Film Festival. A film about the art and the campaign began the grand opening ceremony of the festival today, Friday evening.
