The climate emergency has affected the life of every Filipino, and its impacts are amplified even more by the on-going pandemic. That is why it’s crucial that we take a consolidated approach to both the COVID-19 and the climate crises. With this Climate and Pandemic Response Portal, we can help our local leaders plan an informed, sustainable response and recovery plan for these twin crises.
The good news is the solutions we need for healthy, liveable, and climate-responsive cities already exist, as well as stories of hope and community-shared innovations. With these local, grassroots initiatives, and with everyone doing their part, we can transform our cities and communities.
Climate and Pandemic Stories Map
Citizens, communities, and different sectors each have unique experiences, and these form our collective story. When we make ourselves heard, we inspire others to do the same, and urge our leaders to listen and act.
Sustainable Solutions for Better Cities
Solutions for better cities can be found in your locality—in shops that use plastic-free packaging, bicycle repair stations, urban gardens, community pantries, green spaces, and people-centered spaces. They often have little means of promoting themselves but they’re there!
In order to achieve a #BetterNormal, there is a need to facilitate and accelerate the realization of liveable, resilient, and climate-responsive Philippine cities, moving towards a green and just recovery. People mobilization and consumer demands can bring transformational changes and inspire more community-driven solutions, which can then be institutionalized.
A liveable city is already in development! Click the button to experience it:
