ORIGINS began as a magazine documenting community stories and tracing the roots of environmental action through the people leading change. It has since grown into a broader space for storytelling and creative expression, where community members, partners, allies, volunteers, supporters, and staff alike can contribute works in different forms and help build a shared record of resistance and hope for a more just and livable world.

In this Pride edition of ORIGINS, creative works trace how queer people learn to see themselves, find one another, and claim belonging in a world that often tries to define or overlook them. Through literature and art, LIFEFORMS: The Faces of Pride brings lived experiences of joy and resistance into conversation with the living world.
