Volunteer with us
Together, we dream of a green, just, and peaceful future. By uniting communities and diverse voices, we expose environmental injustices and challenge destructive systems. Volunteers like you give us strength and inspire others to join this meaningful cause.
What does it take to be a Greenpeace volunteer?
- We believe in the power of people to make a change – environmental campaign work takes time, effort, and voice of committed citizens like you. We have witnessed our volunteer community defend human rights and the environment throughout Greenpeace’s history, and we look forward to seeing you continue this legacy.
- We are committed to Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDIs) in all we do. We ensure equal access by offering skills training and opportunities to diverse volunteer demographics and local groups across different areas in the Philippines.
Be a General Volunteer
As a general volunteer, we need your flexibility—this means you are willing to provide support wherever you are needed. Be it helping in event logistics, conducting research in far-flung places or within your community, or assisting in administrative duties. No matter your skill set, expertise, or knowledge, we need you to help us carry out campaign work effectively.
We also have local groups in Iloilo, Bohol, Eastern Visayas, and Cebu, dedicated to lobbying for positive changes in their regions. They partner with local governments, communities, MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises), and youth advocates to promote solutions like refilling stations and walkable cities, helping people live in happy, safe, and green communities.
Be a Cyberactivist
For those unable to join face-to-face activities, you can participate online as a cyberactivist. By engaging with and sharing our articles, social media content, and petitions, you help raise awareness about environmental issues and the actions needed to address them.
While cyberactivism offers security behind the screen, volunteers are still responsible for their actions. This means respecting others’ opinions and embracing diversity. At Greenpeace, we maintain professionalism in our interactions, knowing that what we post or publish online may reflect the organization’s image.
Be an Activist
No matter the form of activism, nonviolence is always our first response. We apply this in protests, demonstrations and other forms of advocating for environmental change. Whether you are painting signs or are on the frontline during protests, your role is to draw attention from the media and the public.
If you are interested or have the skills to be part of the boat or climb community, we provide specialised training.
If you have experience, licenses, and valid marine qualifications, you can sail with us from time to time! You’ll help conduct scientific research, document critical issues, handle administrative tasks, and fearlessly campaign for sustainability.
Be a Greenspeaker
We have volunteers who focus on educating people about environmental problems and sustainability. We help foster a new generation of environmental leaders and advocates through workshops, educational materials, and working with schools and communities.
When you become a Greenspeaker, you promote Greenpeace campaigns, enhance environmental education programs, and speak directly with communities to share ideas, perspectives, learnings and experiences in solving climate-related problems. It is an engaging and meaningful way to connect and collaborate with like-minded defenders of the environment.
