We are able to work from home today because lakhs of citizens are not. These citizens are the true heroes, tirelessly working on the frontlines, driving us, healing us, cleaning our streets, ensuring the system does not collapse.
Public transport workers are one such community who are making travel possible for all those who need it, whether it’s essential workers or commodities. At the same time, they have also been contributing to clean air by driving sustainable mobility.
While providing an essential service, public transportation workers face a huge risk of contracting Covid-19 as they interact with countless people every day. Sadly, these unsung heroes are overlooked and often fail to get any recognition or respect for their service to society.
