Around the world and here in Aotearoa, millions of people are working towards a more green and peaceful future for our planet and its inhabitants — these are some of their stories.
Greenpeace activists are protesting against the climate-damaging extraction of fossil natural gas around 20 kilometers northwest of the North Sea island of Borkum, where the Dutch energy company One Dyas plans to install an extraction platform today. The 18 climate activists from Germany and the Netherlands have anchored three floating platforms, while other activists in inflatable boats and kayaks are demonstrating for the protection of the Wadden Sea. Their flags and banners bear the slogans “Gas destroyed!” and “No New Gas”. One Dyas wants to exploit the N-05A natural gas field at this location.
