Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion Internship (DC)

The Equity Diversity and Inclusion (ED&I) Office is responsible for managing Greenpeace USA’s holistic culture change process of becoming a more diverse and inclusive organization. Members of the ED&I Office work with the Executive Director, COO, D&I council and other key stakeholders to increase the capability of everyone to implement this organizational change. The Office also enlists the expertise of multiple consultants to provide various skills, tools and insight throughout the culture change process. The Office is also responsible for the awareness, education and enrollment of staff in our commitment to diversity and inclusion through internal communications, staff meetings, workshops and other activities.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, responsible, and detail-oriented intern with strong coordinating, research and administrative skills to assist in the central role that this team plays at the organization. Being part of the ED&I office will give interns the unique opportunity to be involved with all parts of the organization, which can provide a useful overall insight into the inner workings of Greenpeace. This position is a great opportunity for anybody interested in learning more about organizational culture change, organizational communication and the nuts and bolts of diversity and inclusion.

Responsibilities:

  • Research in the field of equity, diversity, and inclusion
  • Research industry consultants, their various skill sets and area of expertise
  • Research and compile diversity data into spreadsheets and other shared formats
  • Attend meetings as requested to gain insight, provide information and knowledge pertinent to our office
  • Provide administrative and logistical support to the ED&I commitment at GP such as venue locations, housing, catering and audiovisual reservations for internal and external diversity events
  • Assist in compiling materials and prepping for D&I meetings, in-person meetings and other presentations
  • Taking notes at ED&I meetings
  • Updating and editing our internal website
  • Additional tasks as assigned by the ED&I Officer

  • Self-starter and self-motivated
