BENGALURU RISING

Bengaluru is still growing into the city it could be, carrying its lakes and tree canopy as the infrastructure that keeps it alive. Bengaluru Rising asks what it would look like if the city grew with that, instead of over it.

STAND WITH BENGALURU

Bengaluru faces traffic, heat, and shrinking public spaces. But people are imagining a better future.

What people Imagined

– Prajwal, Bangalore Resident

I take a cycle to the closest metro. Last-mile travel is seamless. Spaces are clean.

– Bangalore Resident

Public buses are frequent, accessible, and safe

– Shweta, Bangalore Resident

The city smells of flowers and trees. There are fewer cars, wires, and political posters. More butterflies, less construction.

– Bangalore Resident

I see most people are walking, some cycling, and the streets feel slow, safe and shared.

IMAGINED LOUD. ACTING LOUDER.

The Scream

At flyovers, felled trees, and a green space threatened by a convention centre, citizens projected their frustration onto the infrastructure that costs them every day. The Scream was not a complaint. It was a verdict, and Bengaluru was listening.

The Living Bus Stop

The idea born in an imaginarium, a climate-responsive bus shelter designed using natural materials, and water-sensitive
infrastructure to make waiting for public transport cooler,
safer, and more comfortable. It turns everyday commuting into a better public experience.
