Health/Dental Plan

We allow employees to make contributions with pre-tax earnings, rather than after-tax, to the following health benefits:

Paid Leave

Vacation:

Health and Wellness: All full-time regular employees are entitled to fifteen (15) days of paid health & wellness leave per year.

Holidays:

Personal Days: All full-time, regular employees are awarded ten (10) personal days per year.

Sabbatical: An employee who has worked at Greenpeace for 5 or more continuous years is entitled to take a fully paid sabbatical of up to 12 weeks, using Sabbatical Leave, for any purpose the employee chooses.

Paid Parental Leave: All full-time, regular employees are entitled to 12 weeks of parental leave and 20 weeks after one year with Greenpeace.

Other Benefits

Commuter benefit: To encourage the use of public transportation, Greenpeace provides its employees with transit benefits in an amount proportional to the number of days worked from a Greenpeace location each week. Alternatively, Greenpeace has a bike benefit program to support the purchase, use, and storage of bikes and bike accessories for employees who commute via bicycle.

Internet Benefit: All full time and part time employees of Greenpeace may receive compensation in the form of an Internet subsidy to cover work related expenses. An employee is eligible for a subsidy if they work from home regularly.

Phone Benefit: An employee who needs to use a cellphone for his, her  or their work, as determined by the employee’s director, is entitled to reimbursement, not to exceed the cost of the employee’s monthly cell phone payment, of up to $40 monthly for medium usage and up to $75 for high usage, toward cell phone fees.

Home Office Supply Benefit: Greenpeace allocates a one-time home office supply benefit to assist employees in their telecommuting office needs.

Pet Insurance: Greenpeace offers a voluntary pet health insurance plan

401(K) Retirement Savings Plan (with employer match): All regular employees, who have completed six months of service are eligible to invest, through pre-tax payroll deductions, in a variety of funds, including socially responsible options. Greenpeace employees enjoy a generous 6% 401(k) match. Newly hired staff with existing 401(k) funds may immediately “roll” them into the Greenpeace Retirement Savings Plan.

Long-Term and Short-Term Disability: All staff working 30 hours or more per week are eligible for both long-term and short-term disability insurances. Greenpeace also offers a life insurance policy for all employees working 30 hours or more per week.
