Air pollution has become one of the most pressing issues globally making it the fifth largest cause for premature death. As a result of air pollution, the incidents of serious health problems among children are on the rise. Air is essential for life, and key to human health and flourishing. There is nothing more important than Right to Clean Air. After years of public pressure and campaigning by civil societies, the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change launched the National Clean Air Programme on January 2019. While it is a first step in tackling Air pollution, the programme needs to be further strengthened and should be effectively implemented.
Together we can transform this vision into action.
