Jane Gire has over 30 years of experience in the field of Human Performance Improvement and Training. Her environmental activism work began in the late 80’s as a door-to-door canvasser in the Ann Arbor office of Greenpeace. From there she supported the grassroots toxic movement working in the Great Lakes Regional for Greenpeace. Next, she helped launch Greenpeace’s presence in Arizona – opening the door canvass while participating in the Toxics Campaign along with local activists in defeating a large-scale hazardous waste incinerator, ENSCO. From there, she moved to San Francisco where she continued to work for Greenpeace for a total of 8 years leading the door canvass, supporting the International and regional campaigns for Greenpeace.

After the door canvass was closed, Jane began formal work in Learning and Development inside of not-for-profit and for profit organizations, then running her own consultancy.

After years of no formal environmental group involvement beyond financial support, Jane joined the board of a Richmond CA-based environmental organization – The Watershed Project. After seven years of service Jane stepped down to pursue more personal theatrical opportunities.

She’s excited for the full circle return to help Greenpeace thrive during challenging times. Jane enjoys life with her husband and kitty cats in Northern California.
