Nordic IT Helpdesk technician

Greenpeace Nordic is looking for an IT Helpdesk Technician to join our IT Operations team. If you have the right profile and have a passion for user support and working for a just cause, we want to hear from you!

Your role

As one of our Nordic IT Helpdesk technicians you will be the primary person acting on all incoming requests in our first line support. This will include supporting a wide range of services, devices and applications and engaging with users, answering questions, troubleshooting problems on site as well as remotely, providing basic training to end users and ensuring that the organization can work as smoothly as possible. When required you will escalate issues to other parts of the IT Operations team or to external vendors.

The helpdesk work is governed by IT policies, processes and procedures and it is expected that the role will contribute continuously to the development of these. The role supports all offices where Greenpeace Nordic is present, remote workers as well as volunteers, guests and visitors. The IT Helpdesk technician is managed by the Head of IT but works under the operational task management of the Nordic IT Operations Team Lead. 

Our technical environment is a mixture of Windows and Mac computers and IOS and Android mobile devices.

Your responsibilities

  • Manage support tasks and handle them according to organizational standards and policies
  • Manage tasks assigned by IT Operations Team Lead
  • Ensure IT Operations processes are followed and continuously developed
  • Ensure supported IT assets and inventories are handled according to organizational standards and policies
  • Ensure that users receive training according to organizational standards and policies
  • Participate and contribute to the yearly planning processes 

We’re looking for someone with

  • A minimum of two years of IT helpdesk work experience
  • Excellent understanding of hard- and software troubleshooting on an application and operating system level
  • Excellent understanding of IT Support processes, ticketing systems, SLAs and IT infrastructure
  • Excellent understanding of communication in an IT support role
  • Excellent understanding of computer networking and infrastructure
  • Experience in training and instructing users, preferably in a remote setting
  • Proficiency in the English language - proficiency in a Nordic language is an advantage
  • The role is expected to travel to other offices in the Nordic region at a frequency decided by the IT Operations Team Lead
  • Must be eligible to legally work in Denmark
