Since 2016, Greenpeace and Natur og Ungdom, along with several other supporters, have pursued a climate lawsuit against the Norwegian state for issuing new oil licenses in the Barents Sea. The environmental organizations believe that new oil licenses violate the constitutional right to a healthy environment. The Supreme Court’s hearing of the climate lawsuit was finished in November. On Tuesday 22 December at 9am (CET) the judgement will be given.
