As the year, and with it an entire decade, comes to an end, we're reflecting on the sentinel moments that defined the past 12 months for Greenpeace.
2019 was an iconic year of people power. In towns and cities all across the world, millions of people mobilized for one cause—our planet. People called out corporations and governments for their role in and failure to address the climate crisis. And even in the face of adversity in the form of devastating extreme weather events, people came together and continue to seek a world that is green and peaceful.
We are honored to have been with these movements and to have captured these moments. Without further ado, here are the images that capture some of the most powerful moments of 2019.
