At Greenpeace USA, we are proud to be part of the Green2.0 Pay Equity Pledge, which underscores our commitment to achieving pay equity for people of color with our organization.
As a crucial step towards achieving this goal, we are dedicated to conducting a comprehensive analysis of staff compensation, examining disparities in pay based on race, ethnicity, and gender. This analysis involves collecting and carefully analyzing relevant data to clearly understand any existing pay disparities.
In late 2022, Greenpeace USA engaged external consultants to carry out a comprehensive assessment of pay equity, examining factors such as race, gender identity, and age. The results of this audit revealed no disparities in pay across these categories.
By identifying areas of inequity, we can take meaningful action to address and rectify these disparities. We intend to implement corrective measures that ensure fair and equitable compensation for all team members.
The Green 2.0 Pay Equity Pledge is an essential campaign focused on promoting pay equity within environmental organizations, particularly for people of color, with a special emphasis on women of color. It recognizes the undeniable wage gap that persists, resulting in women of color receiving significantly lower compensation than their peers.
We firmly believe that true diversity, equity, inclusion, and racial justice cannot be achieved if our staff of color, especially women of color, are paid less than their white or male counterparts. It is our responsibility as an organization to actively work towards eradicating these disparities and fostering a more equitable environment.
Through our commitment to the Green 2.0 Pay Equity Pledge, we aim to lead by example within the environmental sector. We understand that achieving pay equity requires ongoing effort and a commitment to transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Together, let us work towards a world where everyone is compensated fairly, regardless of their race, ethnicity, or gender. Join us as we embark on this crucial journey towards pay equity within Greenpeace USA and beyond.
