A Message of Solidarity After Orlando

by Annie Leonard

June 16, 2016

Greenpeace's leaders from around the world, unite against the horrific violence at Orlando's Pulse nightclub.

This week I am privileged to meet with my peers from around the world: leaders of Greenpeace offices from 4 corners of the earth. There is a shared feeling of horror and frustration at last weekend’s mass shooting in Orlando. I feel very conscious of being the American in the room; to somehow have answers for my colleagues about why this is able to happen. There is much to be done in the coming weeks and months to finally bring these kind of horrors to an end.

But for today, we cannot focus on our work without taking the time to send a message of love and solidarity. From these Rainbow Warriors, to all the communities that fly the rainbow flag of freedom, we stand with you. #Orlandostrong.
