What are you doing March 23-28? Why not learn how to creatively and peacefully protest while connecting with activists from all over the country?
Climbing, boating, arts, blockades, research and an airship are just some of the offerings at Greenpeace’s non-violent direct action camp this year in the Phoenix, Arizona area.
Action camp starts with folks from allwalks of life coming together, honoring diversity, and working across difference. We come together tolearn and share skills in support of the growing movements, campaigns, and communities working toward a common goal- a just and equitable existence for all.
Greenpeace is delighted to participate, and is working hard to make it a safe and inclusive space for all. However, we’re merely facilitating. We need you to make it happen. This is your camp, after all.
Personally, I love climbing – as a way to interact with our world and as a tool for protest. I’ve shared and experienced the fear, empowerment, and growth that is found at height. I’ve made life long friends in places that I never expected while exposing the high costs of human impacts on our planet. The Black Hills of South Dakota and Pechora Sea off the coast of Russia are two that I remember vividly.
