Cyclists protest fossil fuel

This Saturday, millions of people will rally worldwide with one unified message: It’s time to move beyond fossil fuels. Moving Planet is a global day of action on September 24th to demand solutions to the climate crisis.

Amidst increasingly severe weather and the corporate control over our democracy preventing any real progress, the time has come to lead the charge ourselves towards solutions to climate change.

Greenpeace is joining 350.org to host Moving Planet events around the world and in several big cities around the country. In Chicago, Greenpeace organizers and volunteers are planning a bike ride through the city to a rally in Pilsen where they will be joined by Greenpeace International Executive Director Kumi Naidoo and call for an end to the toxic pollution from the city’s Fisk and Crawford Coal Plants.

In Pennsylvania, we will rally at the Portland coal plant. Greenpeace is one of 20 partner organizations in Colorado planning a 50 mile bike ride stopping to rally at two coal plants along the way. Greenpeace will be joining Moving New England for a rally in downtown Boston calling for a healthy, just, and sustainable world. In New York City we will rally at the United Nations to call for international climate solutions.

You will not want to miss out. Check out the map to help you find the event nearest you:
