
The Climate Communications Associate Campaigner works at the national, regional, and global levels to coordinate across integrated projects and support the operational implementation of GPSEA’s energy transition campaign and climate-related activities.
In certain circumstances, as determined by internal and external events, and with the approval and guidance of the Senior Communications Campaigner and the Campaign Lead, this position is expected to assist with other Greenpeace cross-campaign projects.
This role is a fixed-term contract based in the Greenpeace Thailand office.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Working with teams, execute the implementation of pre-approved communication and media strategies, online campaigning, social media and communications for Greenpeace Thailand’s Climate and energy in collaboration with Communications & Digital Unit and Public Engagement Unit.
- Coordinate and monitor resources for the implementation of campaign ideas and tactics for climate and energy, ensuring operational demands are met.
- Support internal coordination across integrated projects to facilitate operational planning and alignment of timelines and resources with defined strategy.
- As needed, organize and manage the work of campaign/project volunteers, interns, and temporary contractors, focusing on adherence to policies and task execution.
- Collaborate with communication focal points to produce a variety of communications materials and, as appropriate, assist in the adaptation of regional and international materials.
- Support campaign messaging and engagement initiatives by organizing and circulating necessary resources and content
- Respond to and engage in internal as well as pressing external regional concerns as defined by the Program team through the Senior Communications Campaigner and the Campaign Lead, adhering to pre-approved communication guidelines and reporting back on engagement outcomes.
- Participate in campaign discussions and planning related to strategic concerns to gain analytical skills for career development and contribute operational feasibility insights.
- Keep the Senior Communications Campaigner, other campaigners, and project team members aligned on integrated service delivery status (including the preparation of monthly reports and work plans), and propose operational adjustments to maintain schedule and consistent resource use.
- Build cooperative relationships and coordinate information flow within the Campaign Department and with relevant Greenpeace Thailand, Greenpeace Southeast Asia, and Greenpeace International units/departments to ensure objectives are aligned.
- Communicate closely with project teams and external counterparts to align on project objectives and imagery.
- Facilitate senior staff engagement and support media relations by disseminating pre-approved messaging and responding to routine media inquiries.
- Build cooperative relationships with national counterparts and maintain contact lists and coordination flow with alliance partners and networks to ensure operational support and aligned messaging
- Support networks, coalitions, and groups that advance campaign goals by ensuring timely delivery of required operational resources and information necessary for aligned campaign actions
- Coordinate and participate in nonviolent direct action to further campaign and organizational goals, ensuring adherence to safety and logistical policies
- Deliver on project engagement plans in a timely and reliable manner in accordance with the country’s strategy, campaign and engagement objectives and monitor delivery against established resource profiles and timelines
- Take all reasonable steps for monitoring campaign activities to ensure consistent and appropriate use of resources and sustain continuous delivery of quality services.
- Coordinate and, when needed, directly produce content and communication materials-including press releases, op-eds, social media posts, fact sheets, blogs, and speaking notes-by working with internal teams, external partners, and vendors to ensure timely and high-quality outputs.
- Support the creation of multimedia assets (videos, infographics, visuals) in collaboration with designers and external vendors tasks.
Skills and Experience:
- University graduate of Bachelor’s Degree and above. Field of study in Communications, Media, Environmental Studies, or relevant Campaigning fields
- At least 3 years of experience in communications, media relations, or digital campaigning, preferably within an NGO or campaign environment.
- Proven campaigning experience focusing on operational execution, coordination, and process management.
